REGIONAL STEERING COMMITTEES

The aim of this activity is to gather the most relevant market actors in Regional Steering Committees (RSC) in order to create or improve networking among them and to build a common reflection and promotion process directed to the support of the olive-residues-to-energy chain.
OneRSC is currently being set up in each participating region.
Main objective: to facilitate and take action to increase the
energy use of olive Residues.
RSCs are advisory and reflection teams gathering all the relevant key players and/or their most representative associations: olive producers, millers, olive pomace operators, technology suppliers, municipalities/public institutions, trade associations, experts. Participants to RSCs have therefore to contribute identifying problems and gaps, proposing solutions and ideas and supporting the overall achievement of project results. RSCs will particularly contribute to the project main activities, ensuring that the whole chain is constantly taken into consideration and involved. There, where a ring of the chain is found missing, RSCs will propose solutions to overcome the problem or fill in the gap, by having in mind that the final aim is putting in place stable regional energy use of olive residues.
Once strong collaborative links will have been established thanks to the MORE project, it is expected that RSCs can keep on maintaining useful activities beyond the project lifetime.
Main outcomes of this activity:
- Improved networking among key market operators
- Full cross-knowledge of involved players about the olive-to-energy chain opportunities, problems and solutions
- Development of the olive-residues energy market in terms of availability of a supply chain of olive residues and increase in use of the olive residues for energy production
