CURRENT SITUATION AND PROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS

This activity aims at analysing and assessing, also through SWOT analyses, the present and future olive residues production and its prospects for energy use in each participating area. It will provide the basis for all the work as it will define areas of activity, improvement and needs.

A future “should be” scenario for the market development of facilities producing energy from olive waste shall be developed for each country addressed by the project, and for a time horizon up to the year 2020.
This specific activity will combine technical skills with socio-economic, political and environmental expertise and will need to involve local players since the very beginning.

Main outcomes of this activity:

  • Complete picture of the olive market and the olive residues use, namely for energy, in each partner country and final comparison of the current scenarios
  • Definition of a “should be” reference scenario for all countries and regions addressed by the project
